Terroir008: deep heart’s core
February 13 @ 6:30 PM at The Tampa Museum of Art
in collaboration with The Tampa Museum of Art, SaltBlock Hospitality
with support from The Music Gallery of Clearwater and University of South Florida
NOTE: Friday, February 8 by 5 PM is the last possible time to purchase tickets.
Terroir New Music continues its event series at the Tampa Museum of Art with Terroir008: DEEP HEART’S CORE, a program of music by living composers paired with a specially crafted menu by SaltBlock Hospitality. Music on the program has been selected to correspond with the ongoing museum exhibits Robert Indiana: A Sculpture Retrospective and Yayoi Kusama: LOVE IS CALLING. The event will take place at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, February 13 at the Tampa Museum of Art.
The musical program will feature acoustic and electronic music by local composers Baljinder Sekhon (USF faculty) and Tyler Kline, and works by Shelley Washington, Valerie Coleman, and Vera Ivanova. Each piece on the program has been chosen with the concept of SEASON OF LOVE in mind: directly, with pieces like Sekhon’s let me love you and Ivanova’s In the Deep Heart’s Core, and indirectly including Washington’s Silk and Kline’s Honeycomb. The performance will feature USF faculty pianist Eunmi Ko and flutist Francesca Arnone and USF student double bassist Keon Sahebkar, and USF Alum percussionist Zachary Hale. Special thanks to the Music Gallery of Clearwater for providing and moving the piano used in this event and to the University of South Florida for faculty support.
The five-course meal from SaltBlock, served family style, is designed with the art and music in mind. Food offerings will include seasonal fruits and aged cheeses, a root-vegetable bisque, spiced apple tart with bourbon butter ice cream, and more. Suggested optional beverage pairings will be available through a cash bar.
Tickets for this event range from $110-125 per person: $110 student/museum member price and $125 for not-yet-members. Ticket price includes a 5-course meal specifically crafted to pair with the musical program and admission to the museum galleries. Doors for the event will open at 6:30 PM, when attendees will be invited to enjoy a cocktail and view the galleries - music and food service begins at 7:00 PM. The Tampa Museum of Art is located at 120 Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa, FL 33602.
